In 1934, Harnischfeger Corporation employees in West Milwaukee, Wisconsin established a credit union to provide a source of credit at a fair interest rate and the opportunity for its members to improve their economic and social conditions. In 1986, the membership voted to expand the charter to a community credit union serving any persons living or working in Milwaukee and Waukesha counties.
Today, Guardian Credit Union is the largest credit union headquartered in Milwaukee county, serving over 35,000 members. Our current membership eligibility includes those living or working in Milwaukee, Waukesha, Washington, Ozaukee, Racine, Kenosha or Walworth counties.
Every day more members turn to Guardian as a premier resource for auto loans, mortgages and savings options.
"Guardian Credit Union is a not-for-profit, member-owned, financial cooperative, dedicated to being the member's primary financial institution by providing superior, comprehensive, courteous, and prompt services."
