2017 Equifax Data Breach
This September, the consumer credit reporting agency Equifax reported a breach affecting up to 143 million US consumers . Personal information including names, birth dates, Social Security numbers and addresses may have been compromised by this unauthorized access and, in some cases, credit card numbers (for approximately 209,000 consumers) and driver's license numbers may also have been exposed.
