  • Why are you changing debit cards?

    We believe that our new Guardian Visa® debit cards will give our cardholders the best payment experience possible.

  • When will I receive my new card?

    We expect existing cardholders to receive their cards in September or early October. We encourage cardholders to activate the new card when received. The new card will not be usable before October 10, 2023. You will need to use your existing Guardian debit card until October 10.

  • Will I be able to use my new card if I receive it before October 10?

    No. The new card will not be usable until October 10. Cardholders will need to use their existing Guardian debit card until October 10. We encourage cardholders to activate the new card upon receipt to ensure that it is ready to use on October 10.

  • Will I need to update my payment information with merchants and subscription services?

    Yes. We encourage you to begin making a list of merchants and services with which you will need to update saved payment information. Beginning October 10, payment information will need to be updated to ensure payments are made according to expectations. Some common merchants include utility providers, payment applications, online shopping sites, digital streaming services, food delivery services, medical providers and more.

  • What should I do if I do not receive my card?

    If you do not receive your new card by October 3, please contact us at (414) 546-7450 or visit a branch location.

  • Will all cardholders in my household receive their card at the same time?

    Some cardholders within the same household may receive their new card earlier than others. All cards should be received by October 10.

  • When will my current debit card by deactivated?

    The new Guardian Visa debit card will need to be activated and used effective October 10, 2023. Your existing Guardian debit card will be deactivated on October 10. Please note: there will be a brief service disruption between 2:00 a.m. and 3:00 a.m. CDT on October 10 as we transition from Discover to Visa. If you expect to make a payment during this time, please plan for an alternate payment method.

  • Will I be able to tap to pay with my new card?

    Yes. The new Guardian Visa debit card will allow cardholders to pay with the contactless tap-to-pay feature available through many merchants. We encourage members to use tap-to-pay where available for increased security when shopping.

  • Will I be able to save my new debit card to a digital wallet?

    Yes. You’ll be able to save your new card to Apple, Google and Samsung Wallets.
