Nomination and Election of Directors
The election of directors to the Board of Directors will be held during the Guardian Credit Union Annual Member Meeting on Thursday, June 26, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. In 2025, there are two three-year terms and one one-year term open for nomination. The following candidates have been nominated
John Bosbous
Board Vice-Chairman
Mr. Bosbous is seeking re-election as an incumbent director and vice-chairman on Guardian Credit Union’s Board of Directors. Mr. Bosbous has a background in accounting, management, treasury operations, risk and insurance management, as well as being a corporate officer.
From 1975 to 1984, he held a handful of positions at Republic Steel Corporation, including accounting trainee, supervisor of treasury operations, manager of treasury operations, and assistant manager of risk management. He took his extensive experience to Bucyrus International/Caterpillar in 1984, where he worked until his retirement in 2012. There he worked his way up from assistant to the treasurer, to assistant treasurer, to eventually earn the treasurer position. Mr. Bosbous holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting.
Kevin Nitka
President and CEO
Mr. Nitka has held a series of successive leadership roles since joining Guardian Credit Union in 1987 and has served as President and CEO since 2016. During his first six years as President and CEO, Mr. Nitka oversaw the credit union’s successful navigation through a net worth restoration plan. During Mr. Nitka’s tenure as President and CEO, Guardian Credit Union has also been named a Top Workplace by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel for seven consecutive years. With an understanding of the credit union industry and the importance of strong financial management, Mr. Nitka strives to help Guardian Credit Union remain strong and competitive and to grow its presence in the southeastern Wisconsin communities that it serves.
A State of Wisconsin Licensed CPA since 1990, with memberships in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Wisconsin Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Mr. Nitka has also held various committee roles in the credit union industry as well as Board roles for Milwaukee-area non-profit organizations. Mr. Nitka holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting with a minor in Economics from Lakeland University.
Jonathan Waldron
Board Director
Serving on the Guardian Credit Union Board of Directors since 2024, Mr. Waldron has become familiar with the credit union. He hopes to continue to contribute individually and collectively to ensure wonderful member service levels are maintained, shareholders are taking advantage of beneficial products and services, and the credit union’s growth as a community financial institution.
A United States Army veteran with thirty years of service, Mr. Waldron has since served as an Assistant District Manager for the Social Security Administration and is a licensed realtor and notary public. This background shapes his interest in continued public service and having a positive impact in the community, as well as his management, customer service and communication skills. Mr. Waldron holds a Bachelor of Science degree in human services from Upper Iowa University.
Voting Eligibility
Members of Guardian Credit Union since June 26, 2024 will be entitled to vote in the election. Members who are unable to attend may vote by absentee ballot. All absentee ballots must be received by Wednesday, June 18, 2025.
