There is a $5 minimum because Guardian Credit Union is a not-for-profit, member-owned cooperative. Your $5 minimum balance for the savings account is your part in ownership of the credit union.
-
How do I access the money in my account?
You can access the money in your account by visiting any Guardian branch, a credit union shared service center or a surcharge-free ATM in the Alliance One Network. Additionally, you can transfer funds to and from your account through your GCU online banking account. Guardian debit and ATM cards can be used internationally at ATMs in the Pulse Network. Turn off “Show only surcharge free ATMs” on the Pulse Network website to find an ATM when travelling internationally.
