Mobile Message Service Terms and Conditions

The Guardian Mobile Message Service (the “Service”) is operated by Guardian Credit Union (“Guardian”, “we”, or “us”). Your use of the Service constitutes your agreement to these terms and conditions (“Mobile Terms”). We may modify or cancel the Service or any of its features without notice. To the extent permitted by applicable law, we may also modify these Mobile Terms at any time and your continued use of the Service following the effective date of any such changes shall constitute your acceptance of such changes.

MESSAGE & DATA RATES: We do not charge for the Service, but you are responsible for all charges and fees associated with text messaging imposed by your wireless provider. Message and data rates may apply. You are not required to agree to receive text messages from us to purchase any product or service from us.

OPT IN & CONSENT: Text messages may be sent using an automatic telephone dialing system or other technology. We require that you opt in or consent to this Service prior to us texting you. For informational texts, we require your prior express consent, which may be obtained in writing or orally and may be implied when you provide your cell phone number on a loan application, for example. For marketing/promotional texts, we require your prior written express consent.

By opting in, you acknowledge and represent to Guardian that you are the current wireless service plan subscriber and/or an authorized user of the mobile phone number(s) that you provided, or you have been granted permission by the wireless service plan subscriber and/or authorized user of the mobile phone number(s) to enroll the mobile phone number(s) in this Service.

You also agree to receive text messages from us whether or not your mobile phone number(s) may otherwise be on the federal or a state’s Do Not Call List.

PURPOSE: Depending on what type of texts you’ve consented to, the Service may provide informational messages such as account updates, alerts, and information for normal business purposes and/or it may provide marketing messages such as promotions, specials, and other marketing offers from us via text message through your wireless provider to the mobile number you provided to us when you opted in/consented to receiving text messages from us. Messages may be recurring and sent at varying frequency.

TO CANCEL or OPT OUT: Text the single keyword command ‘OptOut’ to 800-556-5154 at any time to stop receiving text messages from us. For Service support or assistance, text ‘HELP’ to 800-556-5154 or If you would like to start receiving messages from us again, text ‘Opt In’ to 800-556-5154

OTHER TERMS & CONDITIONS: We may change any short code or telephone number we use to operate the Service at any time and will notify you of these changes. You acknowledge that any messages, including any Opt Out or HELP requests, you send to a short code or telephone number we have changed may not be received and we will not be responsible for honoring requests made in such messages.

The wireless carriers supported by the Service are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. You agree to provide us with a valid mobile number. You agree to maintain accurate, complete, and up-to-date information with us related to your receipt of messages.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree that we will not be liable for failed, delayed, or misdirected delivery of any information sent through the Service, any errors in such information, and/or any action you may or may not take in reliance on the information or Service.
